Check Tax via the SIGNAL App

The most complete national way to check vehicle tax is the SIGNAL app (National Digital Samsat), managed by Korlantas Polri and integrated with Polri, Dukcapil, and provincial revenue agency data. Download SIGNAL from the Play Store or App Store, then register or log in with your national ID number and phone number.

Add your vehicle by entering the plate number (NRKB) and verify as instructed. The tax bill then appears instantly: the PKB amount, SWDKLLJ, fines if late, the due date, and the vehicle's sale value (NJKB). From here, annual tax payment can be continued directly in the same app. For accurate results, enter the plate number exactly as printed on the STNK, including the region code, digits, and letter series.

Alternatives: SMS and Provincial Websites

Nearly every province has its own tax-check channel. Via SMS, formats differ: Jakarta texts METRO plus the plate number to 1717, West Java texts JBR plus plate number plus vehicle color to 0811-2-101, Central Java texts JATENG plus plate number to 9600, and East Java texts JATIM plus plate number to 7070, at Rp500–Rp1,500 per SMS.

Via website, open the Info PKB or e-Samsat portal of the province where the vehicle is registered — for example each region's revenue agency site — then enter the plate number and captcha. The system shows PKB, SWDKLLJ, the due date, and any fines. Regional apps like Sambara (West Java), New Sakpole (Central Java), or Samsat Ceria (Banten) work too.

What You Can Check and Tips

Beyond the base tax, the check result shows the SWDKLLJ component, admin fees, and late fines calculated proportionally per month of delay. This information matters before paying so no arrears are missed.

Basic tax info can still be checked without an ID number on some channels — useful for used-vehicle owners or vehicles registered under family names. For payment, however, identity verification is still required. Make it a habit to check well before the due date to avoid fines and the risk of STNK blocking. SIGNAL also shows reminder notifications as the tax due date approaches, so vehicle owners do not forget to pay on time.
