What SNBP Is and Its General Requirements
Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP) is an admission route into Indonesian state universities (PTN) that assesses students' academic achievements at school, mainly report grades. SNBP replaced SNMPTN and reserves a minimum quota of 20 percent of each PTN's capacity. Unlike test-based routes, SNBP requires no written exam — assessment focuses on the student's learning track record.
Not every student can apply. Only students declared eligible by their school may join SNBP. General requirements: final-year SMA/SMK/MA students in the current year with outstanding achievements, holding a NISN and registered in the School and Student Database (PDSS), with report grades entered into PDSS by the school according to the rules.
Eligible-Student Quotas by School Accreditation
How many students a school may nominate for SNBP depends on its accreditation. A-accredited schools get a quota of 40 percent of grade-12 students, B-accredited schools 25 percent, while C-accredited or unaccredited schools get only 5 percent. Competition for eligible status therefore begins long before registration opens.
In addition, each PTN may set extra requirements, such as minimum grades in certain subjects or a portfolio. Applicants must read the target program's rules before choosing.
SNBP 2026 Schedule
For reference, here is the official SNBP 2026 schedule set by the SNPMB committee: school quota announcement 29 December 2025, objection period 29 December 2025-15 January 2026, school SNPMB account registration 5-26 January 2026, PDSS filling by schools 5 January-2 February 2026, student SNPMB account registration 12 January-18 February 2026, SNBP registration 3-18 February 2026, and results announcement 31 March 2026.
All activities on the set dates start and end at 15:00 WIB. Schedules may change each year, so always follow the SNPMB committee's official announcements ahead of selection season.
SNBP Registration Step by Step
Registration is done online through the SNPMB portal. First, create a student SNPMB account using your NISN, NIK, and an active email, then verify and permanently save your data. Students also applying for KIP Kuliah must register in the KIP Kuliah system before registering for SNBP. Then log in and choose a maximum of two study programs, upload a portfolio if choosing arts or sports programs, and fill in your achievement history, which is optional.
The final step is finalization. After finalizing, no entry can be cancelled or changed for any reason, so double-check before locking. Finally, download and print your SNBP participant card as valid proof of participation. Note that students who pass SNBP may not apply for the independent (Mandiri) selection at any PTN in the same year.
