Booking via the Access by KAI App

Download the Access by KAI app from the Play Store or App Store, then register or log in. Select the Intercity menu, then enter departure station, destination, travel date, and passenger count — enable the round-trip feature for return tickets.

Tap Search, pick your preferred train schedule, fill in passenger data matching your ID, then choose seats on the available seat map. Female passengers can use the female seat map to select seats among fellow women. Complete payment before the time limit expires and the e-ticket is saved automatically in the app.

Booking via booking.kai.id Website

For those who prefer not to install the app, booking can be done via browser at booking.kai.id at the same price with no extra fees. Click Search & Book after entering origin, destination, date, and passenger count.

Select the train and schedule that suits you, fill in passenger data correctly, choose seats, then proceed to payment. Once payment succeeds, the booking code is issued and can be used directly for station check-in without printing.

New Flexibility: 30 Minutes Before Departure

Good news for spontaneous travelers: KAI now serves ticket purchases up to 30 minutes before departure, via both app and website. Make sure your app is updated and your ID data (NIK for Indonesians, passport number for foreigners) is ready.

Additionally, special Go Show fares can be purchased starting 2 hours before departure while seats remain. For schedule changes or cancellations, use the reschedule and refund features in the app so your ticket doesn't go to waste.

Rescheduling and Refunds When Plans Change

If your schedule changes, train tickets can be rescheduled via the Access by KAI app or station counters, as long as seats on the new schedule are available and the change is made before the deadline. Prepare your booking code and ID for the process.

Ticket cancellations (refunds) can also be requested with an administration fee per KAI's terms, with funds returned to the original payment method. That's why you should always book through official channels — tickets from scalpers or unofficial parties risk being non-changeable and non-refundable.
