Day 1: South Lombok and Mandalika Charms
Start from Lombok International Airport heading to Sade Village, a traditional Sasak village with thatched-roof houses. Continue to Kuta Mandalika Beach with its pepper-like white sand grains.
In the afternoon, enjoy Tanjung Aan Beach and climb Merese Hill for the best sunset panorama over the Indian Ocean. Don't miss a photo at the Mandalika Circuit landmark before dinner featuring Lombok's signature ayam taliwang.
Day 2: Island Hopping the Three Gilis
Day two is dedicated to island hopping across Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Depart in the morning from Teluk Nare Harbor by boat, then snorkel at Gili Trawangan's turtle spots and the iconic underwater statues of Gili Meno.
Have lunch at a beachfront restaurant on Gili Trawangan, then explore this motor-vehicle-free island by bicycle or cidomo horse cart. Return to Lombok in the afternoon and catch the sunset around Senggigi or Malimbu.
Day 3: Sembalun, Waterfalls, and Souvenirs
On the final day, head north to Sembalun at the foot of Mount Rinjani. Enjoy hill panoramas from Selong Hill and the crisp mountain air, then take a light trek to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls in Senaru Village.
On the way back, stop at Sukarara Village to see Lombok's signature woven fabrics and shop for souvenirs like pearls and Sumbawa honey before heading to the airport. This itinerary is flexible — the order can be adjusted to your flight schedule.
Preparation Tips Before Heading to Lombok
The best time to visit Lombok is the dry season, April to October, when seas are calm and skies clear — ideal for island hopping and snorkeling. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable sandals as much of the trip is outdoors under the tropical sun.
Carry enough cash as ATMs are scarce on the Gilis and in remote tourist areas. Renting a car with a driver is practical for groups, while backpackers can rent daily motorbikes. Always check weather and wave forecasts before crossing to the Gilis for safety.
