A House in PIK 2 Turned Etomidate Lab

The narcotics unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police has busted an alleged clandestine narcotics laboratory producing etomidate in a house at Cluster Hawai Cove 6, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

West Jakarta Police Chief Commissioner Nasriadi confirmed the bust on Tuesday (29/09/2026). Police found raw materials, production equipment, and thousands of cartridges or pods allegedly containing etomidate liquid.

The house in the upscale residential area was allegedly used as a factory to produce etomidate cartridges packaged to resemble e-cigarette products, intended for distribution across Indonesia.

Chinese National CF (27) Arrested

The case began with public information about alleged narcotics abuse in the Slipi area of Palmerah, West Jakarta. The investigation led to a 27-year-old Chinese national identified as CF.

Officers apprehended CF on Monday night (21/9/2026) at Cluster Hawai Cove 8 No. 7. CF was with two other Chinese nationals, ZD and YX, but initial examination showed neither had any link to the evidence.

Based on CF's statement, officers then searched a second house at Cluster Hawai Cove 6 No. 6 and found a complete production facility.

Raw Materials for 20,514 Cartridges

From the clandestine lab, investigators seized 13 packs of powder suspected to be etomidate raw material with a net weight of 1,300 grams, along with 22 bottles of suspected etomidate liquid with a net weight of 11,000 milliliters.

Police also seized 1,008 cartridges said to be ready for distribution, 12,000 empty cartridges believed prepared for filling, and various production tools including buckets, cooking containers, water heaters, pointed-cap bottles, and digital scales.

From all the seized materials, investigators estimate they could have been used to produce around 20,514 cartridges or pods allegedly containing the narcotic etomidate.

Recruited via TikTok, the Boss Still at Large

During questioning, CF claimed the activity was carried out on the instructions of a person identified as AC, now on the wanted list (DPO). CF said he met AC through TikTok and was offered a job in Indonesia for 5,000 RMB, or about Rp13.3 million.

CF reportedly arrived in Indonesia in late August 2026 and received remote guidance on making etomidate pods via the Telegram app. Police are still hunting AC and examining possible involvement of other parties and distribution routes.

Chief Nasriadi said the bust was part of Operation Nila Jaya 2026, which ran from 9 to 23 September 2026. Investigators charged CF under Article 610 paragraph (2) letter b in conjunction with Article 609 paragraph (2) letter b of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, covering class-II narcotics offenses.
