Set Up the Gemini App
Make sure the Gemini app is installed on your Android or iPhone — free from the Play Store or App Store — then sign in with a Google account. Alternatively, open gemini.google.com in a browser on laptop or phone with a stable internet connection.
In the chat box, pick image-creation mode (usually via a button or a "Create image" option). This is where the Nano Banana model works behind the scenes to turn text into images within seconds.
Write a Detailed Prompt
The key to good results is a specific prompt. Name the subject, action, setting, and visual style you want. Example: "3D illustration of a creative worker in front of a laptop with blue tones, clean minimalist style, modern vibe."
Send the prompt and wait a few seconds for the image to appear. If it's not quite right, continue the conversation with follow-ups like "make a version with an office background" — Gemini revises the previous image rather than starting over, so iterating is fast.
Edit Your Own Photos with AI
Beyond creating from scratch, upload your own photo as a reference and instruct the AI to edit it — for example changing the background, switching the visual style, or turning it into a 3D miniature/action figure. Renders typically finish within seconds to a minute depending on complexity.
The finished image can be downloaded right away for social-media content, profile pictures, or article illustrations. To polish further, open the result in a photo or 3D editing app as usual.
Limits and Ethics
Don't use this feature to imitate someone else's face without permission, fake event photos, or copy copyrighted characters — the platform may reject such prompts. Be discerning about which creations are fit to share.
For casual uses like social content, profile photos, or article illustrations, Gemini is more than enough. Start with a simple prompt, then develop the details little by little until the result matches your vision.
