Jakarta 2026 UMP at Rp5,729,876

The Jakarta provincial government has officially set the 2026 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) at Rp5,729,876 per month. The decision was announced directly by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (24/12/2025).

The figure is 6.17% higher — Rp333,115 more — than the 2025 Jakarta UMP of Rp5,396,761, bringing welcome news for workers in the capital.

The 2026 UMP took effect on 1 January 2026. With this figure, Jakarta once again has the highest provincial minimum wage in Indonesia.

New Formula Under PP 49/2025

Pramono said the UMP was set under Government Regulation (PP) No. 49 of 2025 on Wages, following several rounds of meetings between labor unions, employers, and the government through the Wage Council.

Manpower Minister Yassierli said President Prabowo Subianto had weighed aspirations from various parties, particularly labor unions, before settling on the wage formula: inflation plus economic growth multiplied by alpha, with an alpha range of 0.5 to 0.9.

The alpha index represents workers' contribution to economic growth at the provincial or district/city level.

Applies to New Workers, Support Programs Included

The approved UMP applies specifically to workers with less than one year of service, in line with national wage rules.

Beyond raising the minimum wage, the Jakarta administration also prepared supporting programs for workers, including transport subsidies, food assistance, and various social protection schemes.

These programs aim to preserve people's purchasing power amid Jakarta's rising cost of living, while keeping a balance between worker protection and business continuity.

At the national level, the wage legal basis has been signed by President Prabowo Subianto through the Wage Government Regulation containing the new minimum-wage formula, from provincial UMP to district/city sectoral minimums. The 2027 UMP is scheduled to be set on 1 November 2026. KSPI and the Labour Party have proposed a 7.5-9.5% increase for next year. The final figure will be set through the Wage Council mechanism.
