Ajaib Raises Rp4.3 Trillion from SBI Holdings
Indonesian investment and stock-trading platform Ajaib has officially raised US$270 million in Series C funding from SBI Holdings, a leading Japanese financial services company.
The investment is worth around Rp4.3 trillion. It ranks among the largest startup fundings in Indonesia since 2022, amid an adjustment period for Southeast Asia's technology and digital-investment industry.
Through the deal, SBI Holdings also secured about a 20% stake in the unicorn platform. Ajaib's valuation reportedly climbed past the unicorn status it achieved in 2021.

Funds for Tech and Crypto Expansion
Ajaib Group co-founder and CEO Anderson Sumarli said the new funding will be used to strengthen the company's technology infrastructure, broaden digital financial services, and accelerate the expansion of crypto assets and other investment products in the domestic market.
Ajaib Group President Commissioner Andi Gani Nena Wea called it the largest startup investment in five years. With this addition, Ajaib's total funds raised since founding have surpassed US$500 million, or about Rp8.9 trillion.
Before SBI Holdings, Ajaib was backed by global investors including Li Ka-shing's Horizons Ventures, DST Global, and Ribbit Capital.
A Vote of Confidence in Indonesia's Digital Economy
The strategic move is seen as a breath of fresh air for Indonesia's startup ecosystem. Late-stage funding had been sluggish since its peak a few years ago, and a US$270 million commitment from a single strategic investor signals that big capital is again willing to back established market leaders.
SBI Holdings' interest underscores global investor confidence in Indonesia's fast-growing digital finance market. Ajaib says the funding shows that technology companies built by domestic talent can compete globally.
Since its 2019 launch, Ajaib has been used by millions of Indonesians to invest in Indonesian stocks, crypto assets, and US stocks — mostly beginner investors from second- and third-tier cities.
Ajaib also runs financial-literacy programs with schools, campuses, communities, and finance educators. Accounts can be opened via mobile phone in minutes with no minimum deposit.
